Recruiting and Campus Tours Enrich Experience at Diné College

Tsaile, AZ – Recruiting and campus tours go hand in hand at Diné College, according to Recruit Specialist Autumn Brown. Brown, who organizes tours on the main campus, highlights that each tour is unique and tailored to potential students’ interests through engaging conversations.
“Every tour is different,” Brown noted. “I ask questions to understand what prospective students want to see, making each visit special.”
Tours can range from small groups to busloads of visitors. Brown manages larger groups with the help of additional staff, employing humor and sharing personal experiences to enrich the tour. Reflecting on her college journey, she emphasizes the importance of familiarizing students with the campus.
Diné College is very cultural, proudly embracing the heritage of the Navajo people. The institution’s branding, symbolized by the arrow and infused with Navajo teachings, is not just a part of the campus; it is the very essence that permeates the buildings, the attire of students and staff, and the spirit of the college.
“The campus is vast, filled with history and stories to tell,” Brown said. “It may seem small, but there’s so much to showcase.”
For Autumn Brown, conducting tours and engaging with students is not just a job; it’s a passion. Her love for what she does is noticeable, making the tours not just informative but also a source of inspiration for prospective students.
