18th September 2024

TSAILE, AZ– The Ned Hatathli Museum at Diné College proudly announces the launch of its new website, designed to enhance access to its extensive collection of Navajo and Native American cultural artifacts and educational resources. This online platform aligns with the museum’s mission to preserve and promote the cultural heritage and history of the Navajo people and other indigenous tribes.

Founded in 1978, the Ned Hatathli Museum is pivotal in cultural preservation at Diné College, housing a rich collection of archaeological and ethnographic materials that depict the vibrant narratives of Native American tribes. This collection not only highlights the history of the Navajo Nation but also serves as an essential educational tool for Diné College students.

“The launch of our new website marks a significant advancement in making our cultural resources more accessible and enriching the educational journey for our students,” said Dr. Nonabah B. Sam, Museum Curator. “We are committed to authentically representing our cultures, and this platform will help us reach a broader audience.” Sam, from the Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms Clan), brings extensive expertise in museum studies and Native American education.

With a user-friendly interface, the website offers access to digital exhibits, educational materials, and updates on museum events, reflecting the museum’s values of respect, excellence, leadership, and life-long learning.

The museum invites the public to explore the new website and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Navajo Nation and other Native American tribes. The museum’s logo, designed by Scott Tom, features an arrowhead for protection, a cornstalk for sustainability, and a horned toad symbolizing cultural knowledge keepers, underscoring its mission to preserve heritage.
