In Search of the Golden Egg: Diné College Shiprock Branch Celebrates Community with Festive Spring Event

SHIPROCK, NM. Diné College’s Shiprock Branch Campus encompassed excitement on Thursday, April 17, 2025 as students, staff, and community members came together for a vibrant spring celebration. The day was filled with engaging activities, friendly competition, and valuable resource sharing.
The festivities kicked off with a joint staff and student luncheon, fostering camaraderie over a shared meal. The afternoon then blossomed into a lively series of games and activities, including an imaginative airplane contest, pin the bunny’s nose, and a spirited Easter egg hunt. Winners of these events were rewarded with prizes, adding to the joyful atmosphere. A brief basket exchange further highlighted the spirit of community and sharing.
Later in the day, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the campus opened its doors for a community-wide event. Children eagerly participated in a dedicated Easter egg hunt, while adults joined in their own competitive search. Prizes were awarded to the lucky finders in each category. The presence of a popular animal petting zoo brought smiles to the faces of children and adults alike. Field day-style activities provided further opportunities for fun and friendly competition, with prizes awarded to the winners.
Inside the gymnasium, a wealth of resources was made available to the community through various informational booths. Attendees had the chance to explore health opportunities, learn about potential employment, and connect with other valuable community services.

The celebration continues with the Happy Easter Arts & Crafts Market taking place at the North Campus Gym on Friday, April 18, 2025 and Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The community is warmly invited to attend this market.
