Diné College Warrior Rodeo Team to Compete at University of Arizona NIRA Rodeo
TSAILE, AZ – The Diné College Rodeo Athletics Team is set to compete at the University of Arizona National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Rodeo in Tucson, AZ, on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The competition will bring together top collegiate rodeo athletes, and the Warriors are ready to showcase their skills.
Earlier today, the Diné College community gathered at the Diné College Gym Parking Lot to send off the team. Fallon Z. Jones and Teshawna S. Hunt departed from the college during the sendoff, while Noah D. Haven and Cooper J. Andersen will meet the team in Tucson ahead of the competition.
The Warrior Rodeo Team, led by Coach Ed Holyan, is focused on making a strong showing this spring season. Coach Holyan emphasized the importance of this event, stating, “For us, it’s a new start for the spring, and there are more rodeos ahead. We need to regroup with the new kids coming in. Our goal is to qualify for the finals and finish strong by getting everyone on the same page to succeed.”
