Diné College student attend the 42 Annual ITEP Conference.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Clarene Davis, a student from Diné College, participated in the 42nd Annual Conference held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico. Representing the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP), Davis has collaborated with Professor Lupita Montoya of Stanford University to enhance the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in air quality research.

During the conference, Davis participated in the “Introduction to Aerosols Part 1 and 2” tutorials, highlighting her commitment to advancing knowledge in environmental science through a culturally inclusive lens. Her participation lasted from October 20 to October 22.

This collaboration aims to bring Indigenous insights to the forefront of environmental research and policy discussions, reinforcing the importance of diverse viewpoints in tackling air quality challenges. Davis’s involvement highlights the collaborative efforts between educational institutions and environmental organizations to facilitate inclusive research practices.
