Diné College Hosts Art Workshop with Nanibah Chacon
TSAILE, AZ – Diné College recently hosted a two-day art workshop on February 18 and 19, 2025, led by Nanibah Chacon, a Navajo/Diné artist and Mellon Fellow.
The event, held at the SUB Activity Room on the Tsaile Campus, brought students and community members together to help create a public sculpture for the Navajo Nation. Special guest artist Autumn Chacon also worked with participants to build an FM transmitter, blending art and technology.
The workshop gave attendees a chance to learn about public art, storytelling, and cultural expression. The project aims to preserve Navajo traditions while allowing the community to share their voices through art.
This event was supported by the Mellon Foundation, the School of Arts and Humanities, and the Diné College President’s Office.
