Diné College Hosts a Campus Tour for Baboquavari High School Students

TSAILE, AZ —Diné College Office of Outreach and Recruitment hosted a Campus Tour for 41 students and staff from Baboquavari High School, Topawa, AZ., located on the Tohono O’odham Nation
The campus tour was meticulously crafted to showcase the diverse degree programs that focus on Student Success, Residence Life, and the Student Wellness Center.
Participants had the opportunity to visit various campus locations such as the Ned Hatathli Cultural Center (museum on the 4th floor), Dine Studies, the Library, and the RC Gorman Museum.
A highlight of the tour was Dr. Avery Denny’s presentation on Navajo Philosophy, emphasizing the importance of preserving indigenous language and culture for mental well-being.
Guests were also welcomed to enjoy the facilities of the Student Wellness Center, where they could relax, savor refreshments, and participate in activities in the music and game room. The supervisors praised the institution’s commitment to fostering a supportive student atmosphere.
The Office of Outreach and Recruitment would like to extend its appreciation to the Peer Mentors and staff for their assistance in showcasing the college’s academic offerings and facilities.
Diné College is the first tribally controlled college established in 1968. As a postsecondary educational institution, Diné College awards associate degrees, bachelor degrees, a master degree and certificates in areas important to the economic and social development of the Navajo Nation.
