TSAILE, Ariz. – The School of Diné Studies and Education at Diné College hosted a Capstone presentation celebrating the accomplishments of two graduating seniors from the Class of 2024. The event, held under the direction of Kimberly Dominguez, Executive Director of Teacher Education, recognized the dedication of students Berlinsea Lee and Delphine Chester as they concluded their educational journeys.

Sharon James, an instructor at Diné College, spoke to the efficacy of the program. “Through our seminar courses, about half of our students are job-ready. This reflects the success of our approach in preparing them for their professional careers,” James said.
Berlinsea Lee emphasized the personal growth she experienced during her time at the college. “I gained a lot of kinship and family here,” Lee shared. “That support showed me I can do this, and I’m doing it.”
Fellow graduate Delphine Chester described overcoming personal challenges on her path to success. “This program taught me resilience,” Chester said. “Despite the difficulties, I’ve found the strength to move forward and make a difference in education.”
David Nez, Dean of the School of Diné Studies and Education, highlighted the larger vision of the college. “Our mission is to train educators who can shape the future of the Diné Nation,” Nez said. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made.”
Provost Alysa Landry offered closing remarks. “Teaching is the greatest act of optimism,” Landry stated. “You are not just educators but champions for the next generation.”
