Diné College Athletics Rodeo Team Kick Off Fall Season at Nira

DUNCAN, AZ – The Diné College Rodeo Team is set to kick off the Fall 2024 semester with their participation in the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) event, scheduled for September 20-21 in Duncan, Arizona. The team, led by Coach Ed Holyan, brings a diverse group of talented student-athletes to the competition.
The Diné College Athletics Rodeo Team will be competing in the first NIRA rodeo of the FALL 2024 Semester. The current team consists of:
- Kass Newman – Tie Down, Team Roping
- Cooper Andersen- Tie Down, Team Roping
- Michael Williams – Tie Down, Team Roping
- Noah Haven – Tie Down, Team Roping
- Dean Holyan – Tie Down, Team Roping
- Delaney Bahe – Bull Riding
- Teshawna Hunt – Barrel Racing, Break Away
- Racey Blackrock – Barrel Racing, Break Away
- Fallon Jones – Barrel Racing, Break Away
Coach Holyan has expressed confidence in the team’s potential to excel not only in the arena but also in their academic pursuits. He emphasizes a balanced approach to both components of student life, aiming for success across the board.
