Cameo Mejia Sworn in as New Diné College Staff Association President
3rd December 2024
TSAILE, Ariz. December 03, 2024. During the Annual Diné College Board meeting, Cameo Mejia, Staff Association President, was sworn in as a new board regent. The ceremony was conducted by Theresa Hatathlie, Chairperson of the Board of Regents, and Vice-Chair Greg Bigman, who also serves as a designated member of the board.
Mejia, as the Staff Association President, brings valuable insight into the representation and advocacy of staff interests at Diné College. The Diné College Staff Association (DCSA) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the voices of staff members are heard. The association provides elected representatives who address issues affecting staff welfare while acting as a liaison between staff, the College President, and the Board of Regents.
The DCSA’s mission includes making policy recommendations, advocating for budget priorities, and proposing initiatives to improve employees’ welfare, safety, work environment, and salaries. It also seeks staff representation on committees and encourages community service projects that align with the college’s mission and strategic goals.
Cameo Mejia’s leadership within the Staff Association will be instrumental in addressing key concerns for Diné College employees, and we are pleased to welcome Mejia to the Board of Regents, where these efforts can expand further,” said a Board of Regents representative.
The next Board of Regents Regular Meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2025, at 9 a.m. MST.
