Diné College
Est. 1968

Diné College (DC) is the first established tribal college in the United States and has proudly served the Navajo community for over 51 years. Covering the vast 27,000 square miles of the Navajo Nation across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, DC has become a cornerstone of higher education for the Navajo people, providing access to quality education rooted in cultural understanding and academic excellence.

As the first tribally-controlled collegiate institution in the U.S., accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Diné College is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by Native communities. These challenges include tribal sovereignty, language revitalization, multicultural education, and nation building.

Under visionary leadership, DC has expanded its academic offerings, establishing four transdisciplinary schools: the School of Diné Studies and Education, the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), the School of Arts and Humanities, and the School of Business and Social Science. Additionally, DC has launched groundbreaking initiatives such as the Navajo Sovereignty Institute, the Navajo Cultural Arts Program, and the ongoing efforts to establish the first Navajo law school.

Diné College remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders and scholars, ensuring that the Navajo Nation continues to thrive through education, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
