Diné College to hold Golf Tournament Fundraiser this Spring

TSAILE, AZ — For the past fifty-four years, Diné College has fulfilled an unwavering commitment to cultivate the next generation of leaders and academics on the Navajo Nation. The college has supported the academic drive and passion of students working to earn a college degree by providing them with the knowledge and skills required for professional advancement on and off the homeland.

The Diné College ‘Golfers for Scholars’ Golf Tournament is a fundraiser designed to replenish the Diné College Scholarship Fund, with a percentage of the proceeds going to support the Athletics Department. The event will take place in Farmington, NM at the Piñon Hills Golf Course on April 22, 2023. Registration is now open online at https://www.dinecollege.edu/golf/. Registration levels include $250 for individual golfers, $900 for a team of four, and $1,500 for corporate teams that are interested in additional promotion at the event. A special discount is offered to Diné College Alumni for individual golfers and teams of four.

On the day of the tournament, the range will open at 7:00 a.m. On-site registration and breakfast will be available at 6:30 a.m. The putting contest will take place from 7:30-8:15 a.m.; and the shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. An awards luncheon, catered by Grill on the Hill, will follow the tournament at 12:30 p.m., and the event will conclude at 2:00 p.m.

Diné College is a four-year tribal college located on the Navajo reservation with five campuses and two microsites across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah and primarily serves Navajo students. The school offers 1 master’s degree, 11+ bachelor degrees, 16 associate degrees, and 6 certificate programs. The school is a member of the Higher Learning Commission. The college, established in 1968, is the first tribal college and was formerly named Navajo Community College.
