TSAILE, Ariz. — Better Place Forests, an organization who creates conservation memorial forests, generously donated $5,000 to the Diné College Warrior Scholarship Fund. The Diné College Warrior Scholarship has a fundraising goal of $500,000 for the year 2021.
Better Place Forests is the first organization to create conservation memorial forests. Their mission is to inspire everyone to leave a meaningful legacy for the planet and the people they love. Better Place Forests help families personalize their end-of-life plans while leaving a lasting legacy of forest conservation by offering sustainable alternatives to cemeteries. They work with families to choose a private, protected family tree to return their ashes to the earth together
“We proudly support Diné College in their mission to advance quality student learning to ensure the well-being of the Diné People,” says Sandy Gibson, co-founder and CEO of Better Place Forests. “Through this action, we recognize the important role of Diné College in educating tomorrow’s leaders on the Navajo Nation and beyond, as well as the significance of the Diné culture to the region. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Diné College today and in the future.”
Adrian Lerma, Diné College Development & Alumni Officer said we would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Better Place Forests for their dedication to conservation efforts and sustainable alternatives to end-of-life practices, as well as their unwavering support to give back to the community and provide students with the opportunity to focus on their education without the extra financial burden.
“Diné College’s faculty and staff work diligently to educate and inspire students during the course of their academic journey. The College is committed to empowering every student who attends Diné College and to prepare them with the skills and attitude to succeed in life,” said Lerma.
